“Russian menus and signs are spreading in restaurants located in Tbilisi,” - the private sector officials about another problem, which is related to providing the service in non-Georgian language, more specifically in Russian, in various food establishments of the capital.
As business representatives say, some of the catering establishments no longer follow the regulations established, which oblige them to place their names in Georgian. According to them, the relevant agencies do not react properly to the problem.
"Any inscription that will be presented on the stand must be written in Georgian, and then must be followed by an English inscription. Russian-written inscriptions are found very often in Adjara region and have already increased in Tbilisi as well. Not only in Russian, there are many Arabic, Iranian, etc. inscriptions, which is a bit annoying.
In case of violation, the business is given a warning and a specific deadline, after which they are obliged to make a signboard according to the law", - the founder of "Wine Library" Nazi Ghvtisiashvili said.
To be informed, permission for placing external signboards on various objects is issued by the Tbilisi Architecture Service, while monitoring in this direction is carried out by the Municipal Inspection of Tbilisi City Hall.
