The initial architectural sketch and presentation materials of the Georgian Culture Center near the Jordan River were introduced to the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili, members of the government and representatives of the Patriarchate.
The members of the commission got acquainted with the materials prepared on the basis of pre-project studies in the framework of the second session of the governmental commission created for the establishment of the Georgian cultural center in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, location near the baptism site of Jesus Christ. Today, the members of the commission discussed the further measures to be implemented for the construction of the center.
The 4,000 square meters of land owned by Georgia is adjacent to the place of baptism of the Savior, 15-20 meters from the Jordan River. In the spring of 2022, Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili took part in the event of the transfer of land to Georgia together with Prince Ghazi of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
