A Georgian blueberry producer company "Blue Valley" is working to increase the share of exports in the European market.
As Levan Lebanidze, the founder of the company, told bm.ge, Russia is one of the largest export markets for them, but due to the unpredictable situation, they intend to diversify the market.
According to him, "Blue Valley" also has the certificate required for the EU market and is negotiating with several companies in the Netherlands, Spain and Italy.
"We sell small quantities of products in Georgia. Russia is a big market for us, but after the developments between Russia and Ukraine, we are trying to increase the share of sales in the European market. Russia is so unpredictable that it is difficult to talk about any expectations, so we want to move sales to a much more stable market. At the same time, we have full certification for entering the EU market and, for export, we are negotiating with several companies in the Netherlands, Spain and Italy. We have just taken part in the biggest exhibition in Berlin - FRUIT LOGISTICA 2022," - said the founder of "Blue Valley".
To be informed, the company owns gardens on 18 hectares in the village of Laituri, Ozurgeti Municipality. Last year, "Blue Valley" exported 100 tons of blueberries. The company expects to harvest about 100 tons of blueberries this year as well.
