According to the spokesperson of the Kremlin, Dimitri Peskov, the Georgian draft law "On transparency of foreign influence" is not inspired by Moscow and the Kremlin has nothing to do with it.
"Nothing was inspired by the Kremlin, and the Kremlin has absolutely nothing to do with it. As you know, the practice of introducing these laws was initiated by the United States of America in the late 1930s. One version of the bill was very similar to the American law, and the other - more or less.
The second option was more or less similar to the law of the United States, it was softer in content, but we have nothing to do with one or the other," Peskov said.
