The Georgian Wheat Producers Association said a draft resolution by the Russian Government on banning hard wheat exports from the country starting next month would have no impact on the Georgian market.
The Association explained the resolution only addressed banning hard wheat used for pasta production and not the soft wheat type used in bread production and imported to Georgia.
The Georgian Wheat Producers Association also said Georgian authorities had more than two months’ worth of wheat reserves, while both imported and domestically produced wheat being accepted by grain mills without interruptions.
