
The representative office of FedEx in Georgia will build a logistics center with the DFC investment. For this purpose, Information Communication Systems, the licensee of the international shipping company FedEx in Georgia, took a long-term loan of 4 million dollars from the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), which must be repaid within 10 years.
A logistics center equipped with modern standards will be built near the Tbilisi International Airport, on an area of 3,000 sq/m.
As the executive director of Information Communication Systems Nino Menteshashvili told BM.GE, by developing the logistics infrastructure of Georgia and creating additional temporary and permanent jobs, the regional logistics center will contribute to the economic development of the country and the region, in general. Speaking about the details of the project, she stated that the construction of the logistics center will start from August and will last 18 months; After its implementation, about 100 jobs will be created.
The executive director of Information Communication Systems also talks about the process of attracting financial resources from the US International Development Finance Corporation and says that they were able to meet most of the requirements of DFC.
Nino Menteshashvili says that there is a great demand for a unified, high-standard logistics center, and after the completion of the project, the company will start taking care of its development.
