
Celebrated Georgian film director Eldar Shengelaia has passed away at the age of 92, according to an announcement made by his family on social media.
Shengelaia studied film at the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography in Moscow, later working at the Mosfilm studio from 1957 to 1959. In 1960, he returned to Georgia to join the Georgian Film studio, where he built a distinguished career.
