Remittances to Georgia from abroad reach historical maximum, $ 4.37 billion, in 2022

As the National Bank of Georgia reported, in 2022 a record amount of remittances of $ 4.37 billion was transferred to Georgia, which is almost 86% more than last year's figure of $ 2.35 billion.
It is not surprising that the largest amount of money, $ 2.07 billion dollars, was transferred from Russia this year, which is 402.6% higher than the figure of 2021, $ 411.4 million.
Russia is followed by Italy with $ 431.6 million, then the USA with $ 326.99 million, Greece with $ 223.9 million and Israel with $ 199 million.
As for the volume of money transfers from Georgia, $ 41.2 million have been transferred from the country this year, and the main destinations are Turkey, Ukraine, Russia, Azerbaijan and Greece.
