“Georgia really needs a new international airport, that's why the work process in the Ministry of Economy has been going on for many months,” - the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Levan Davitashvili spoke in detail about the new international airport project in Tbilisi at a briefing held in the government administration.

According to Levan Davitashvili, in the course of the work process, the capabilities of the existing airport were studied and it was revealed that it has significant limitations, including those based on the territory and development perspective.
“There are also certain restrictions in terms of navigation, which are directly related to the issue of security. Therefore, both the expansion of the existing airport and the construction of the Vaziani Airport at a new location are being considered. Our goal is to have a new airport as well as possible and to create a competitive environment as much as possible,” - Levan Davitashvili stressed.
