On March 13, the Federal Air Transport Agency of Russia, Rosaviatsia, gave preliminary permission to the Russian airline Red Wings for additional flights to Georgia.

Red Wings is willing to add flights to the following destinations: Irkutsk-Tbilisi, Novosibirsk-Tbilisi, Grozny-Tbilisi, Novosibirsk-Tbilisi, Novosibirsk-Batumi, Grozny-Batumi, Novosibirsk-Kutaisi.

Each destination was authorized to operate seven flights per week. The permission of the Civil Aviation Agency of Georgia is required to start new flights of the Russian airline company.

Under the decision of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, on May 10, restrictions on flights to Georgia were lifted for Russian airlines and the  2019 decree was declared invalid. The visa regime for Georgian citizens was also abolished.
