In 11 months of last year, railway freight turnover amounted to 1.235 billion US dollars, which is 179 million US dollars less compared to the same period last year. According to the data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT), in January-November 2022, railway trade amounted to $1.414 billion.
In addition, out of the $1.235 billion worth freight shipped by rail in January-November 2023, $1.051 billion were received from imports, and $183.758 million - from exports.
According to GEOSTAT data, in 11 months of last year, the leader among Georgia's top trading partners by imports is Russia, with which the volume of cargo turnover amounted to $742,426 million, followed by Azerbaijan - with $107,145 million and Armenia - with $81,257 million.
As for exports, during the same reporting period, the largest cargo worth $30,043 million was sent to Azerbaijan, $12,350 million to Armenia, and $10,175 million to Bulgaria.
