The permanent exhibition project of the renovated Racha Museum has been awarded the Gold Prize at the prestigious unDesign Award international design competition, according to Georgia’s Ministry of Culture.
Developed in partnership with the Georgian National Museum and the Franco-Singaporean design firm StudioMilou, the project stood out for its innovative and modern design. The scientific concept behind the exhibition was crafted by researchers from the Georgian National Museum, with active involvement from the Oni Museum staff, while StudioMilou transformed this vision into a dynamic and engaging design.
The exhibition will be located in the newly constructed museum building in the city of Oni. With the successful completion of the project's first phase and its international recognition, the next step—installation of the exhibition—is set to begin soon. It will present a compelling narrative of the Racha region’s natural heritage, history, and culture.
The Ministry noted that the project is poised to make the Racha Museum a key cultural and educational hub, meeting modern international standards and attracting both local and international visitors.
This international accolade is seen as a significant milestone for Georgia’s cultural and museum sector, underscoring the growing global relevance of museums in preserving and promoting heritage.
