On October 1, Quentin Tarantino's supervising sound editor Wylie Stateman will meet with representatives of the Georgian film industry and give a speech.
Wylie Stateman visited Tbilisi at the invitation of POSTRED, an audio post-production and music company. The visit is associated with the opening of the POSTRED Academy established by the company within The USAID Industry-Led Skills Development Program, which will teach students sound design and music for visual media.
In addition to Quentin Tarantino's films, Wylie Stateman has worked on such legendary films as Home Alone, Memoirs of a Geisha, Shrek, Alexander and many others.
Wylie Stateman is a nine-time Academy Award nominee and Emmy Awards winner for The Queen's Gambit.
During the visit, Wylie Stateman will meet with the director of the Georgian National Film Center, Kakha Sikharulidze, the representatives of the USAID and the American Embassy, as well as the Director of Enterprise Georgia Agency, Mikheil Khidureli.
"The purpose of his visit is to support POSTRED and POSTRED Academy and develop the audio post-production services business in Georgia. POSTRED is a well-known audio post-production and music company not only in Georgia, but also in Hollywood, which has worked on the following projects: Paramount Pictures' SCREAM, HBO's 16th Emmy Awards-nominated Euphoria, A24's C'mon, C' mon starred by Joaquin Phoenix, etc., also, on the Georgian films: "Brighton 4th" by Levan Koghuashvili, "Shindisi" by Dito Tsintsadze, etc.," – POSTRED said.
Wylie Stateman’s visit to Georgia is financially supported by the USAID, the US Embassy in Georgia and the National Tourism Administration of Georgia.
