Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, has claimed a sharp rise in public support for the ruling Georgian Dream party, following what he described as a "historic" parliamentary election outcome.
Citing a recent GORBI poll in a social media post, Papuashvili noted that 63% of voters trust the electoral process, while 56.2% support Georgian Dream.
“This is the Georgian people’s answer to those who trade service to their country for foreign submission, national interests for waving someone else’s flag, and love for hatred and violence,” he wrote.
Papuashvili framed the results as a clear endorsement of Georgian Dream’s direction, saying citizens are choosing peace over war, progress over chaos, and national sovereignty over foreign influence.
“Georgians are choosing unity over division, and staying true to their national interests instead of becoming puppets in a hysterical world that has lost its way,” he added.
