Georgian farmers found themselves in a not so favorable situation: they increased their expenses, while the price decreased. Overall, Georgia is not a major exporter of potatoes. Significant exports to neighboring countries occur during temporary fluctuations, but usually do not cover the period from July to August. As a rule, the countries of the region do not need Georgian potatoes at this time.
In 2021, 8.7 thousand tons of potatoes were exported from Georgia. In June 2022, the volume of export was only 0.2 thousand tons.
