Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, stated, “What was once handled by organizations like USAID, NED, and similar entities is now being managed by Brussels-funded organizations or various EU capitals.”
He continued, “Georgia serves as a test case, and we’re already witnessing a shift. Efforts once funneled through USAID and NED, which were recently exposed by the US administration for fraud and destabilizing activities, are now redirected to EU-funded organizations. This shift represents a broader attack on Georgia, its government, and its people. We’ve seen individuals guided by 'puppets' receiving tasks—this is essentially a test. Our position is clear: destabilization networks must be eradicated, not rebranded. USAID shouldn’t just be replaced by the 'European Endowment for Democracy,' which is working with groups like the Estonian Aid Organization.”
Papuashvili added, “Many organizations have been 're-Estonianized,' with control shifting to other countries. Resources once coming through USAID and NED are now being redistributed through different channels. Our claims have been confirmed. Some of the money from foreign donors was used to destabilize Georgia, promote extremism, and spread propaganda. The US government has admitted this use of USAID, NED, and other organizations.”
“We also warned about attempts to involve Georgia in a conflict. While some denied this, today’s confirmation proves our points. This is a proxy war, as the US Secretary of State acknowledged. Proxy wars are fought by puppets, and certain political groups abroad wanted us to play along. Their frustration at our refusal is behind the absurd visa and entry bans. These measures aim to change Georgia’s government, and we see efforts to raise new 'puppets,'" Papuashvili concluded.
