President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan congratulated Mikheil Kavelashvili on the election as Georgian President.

In his congratulatory letter, the Turkish President expressed confidence in the deepening and intensification of friendly relations and tight cooperation between Georgia and Türkiye.

“Honorary President-elect, on behalf of myself and my people, I sincerely congratulate your Excellency on your election as the President of Georgia. We are linked to Georgia with a close neighbourhood and strategic partnership.

We wish you success in the fulfilment of this honourable duty. I am convinced that within your duty term, we will further develop friendly relations and close cooperation between our countries that serve our foreign interests and welfare in the region.

I would like to extend my best wishes. I wish Your Excellency health and prosperity, while friend Georgian people – revival and happiness,” reads the letter of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Mikheil Kavelashvili was elected President of Georgia by the Assembly of Voters on December 14. He will be inaugurated on December 29.
