Presentation of electronic timber resource management system program takes place in Tbilisi

During the official meeting held within the project "Strengthening the Sustainable Forestry Practices in Georgia” - Implementation of Timbeter's Innovative Timber Measurement Technology", the participants discussed the importance of introducing an electronic timber management system.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, the meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Iuri Nozadze and Ambassador of the Republic of Estonia to Georgia, Riina Kaljurand.

The project was implemented by the Estonian Company "Timbeter" with the financial support of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and with the technical support of the Georgian Environmental Organization, Geo.

Under the project, test work was underway on business yards and in the state-owned forest area, involving representatives of the Ministry, staff of the National Forest Agency and the Department of Environmental Supervision.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Estonia to Georgia, Riina Kaljurand, thanked the Georgian side for providing the openness of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and choosing the Estonian technologies in the development of the Georgian forests.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Embassy of Estonia, the Company "Timbeter", the National Forestry Agency, the Department of Environmental Supervision and the Agency of Protected Areas.
