In the same period last year, 3,195 tons of potatoes were sold abroad for 624 thousand US dollars. As a result, potato exports have exceeded 250% this year, both in terms of quantity and quantity.

It should be noted that such a large volume of potato exports from Georgia has not been carried out in a single year. According to the annual figures, the largest number of products was exported in 2021, namely, last year the country sold 50,127 tons of potatoes worth 16.8 million dollars abroad.

The list of the countries, where Georgia exported the largest amount of products in the first 3 months of this year is as follows:

• Russia - 3,073 tons ($ 1.278 million);
• Azerbaijan - 7,980 tons ($ 971 thousand);
• Ukraine - 369 tons ($ 39.1 thousand);
• Armenia - 88.9 tons ($ 34.1 thousand|);
• Moldova - 185.4 tons ($ 18.5 thousand).

As for March in particular, last month potatoes were exported to only 3 countries:

• Azerbaijan - 3,623 tons ($ 438 thousand);
• Russia - 104 tons ($ 42.1 thousand);
• Armenia - 32 tons ($ 13.6 thousand).

As for the past years, Ukraine, Armenia and Moldova were not included in the export list. Within the first two months of 2021, Georgia sold potatoes only to Azerbaijan, Russia, Turkmenistan and Hong Kong.
