For the upcoming 2025 municipal elections, political parties can now submit their party lists, as well as mayoral and majoritarian candidates, electronically, the Central Election Commission (CEC) announced.
The CEC held a working meeting today with representatives of the parties registered for the October 4 elections. During the meeting, officials from the CEC’s Election Process Management Department presented new features introduced for this election cycle.
Notably, this marks the first time that parties will be able to nominate mayoral and majoritarian candidates through an electronic platform in municipal elections. The session also included guidance on how to use the new digital system.
The CEC reminded all registered parties that the deadline to submit party lists and nominate mayoral and city council majoritarian candidates is September 4.
