
Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze hailed UNESCO’s decision to inscribe “Georgian Wheat Culture: Traditions and Rituals” on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, calling it a deeply meaningful moment for the nation.
“This recognition holds great significance for our country,” Kobakhidze stated during a briefing, emphasizing the cultural and historical value of the tradition. He extended his gratitude to all institutions involved in preparing the nomination.
“Special thanks go to the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, and the Ministry of Agriculture. Several agencies contributed to this achievement. I am grateful to everyone who helped ensure this decision was made,” he said, noting that such international acknowledgment highlights and celebrates Georgia’s rich heritage.
