Peach export increased in first half of year

According to the data of the first 6 months of the current year, the export of peaches from Georgia has doubled. According to official statistics, the country earned $1 million 424 thousand by selling 1 411 tons of fresh peaches and nectarines. The quantity of sold goods increased by 67%, and the value by 107.2%.
In the first half of the year, peaches were exported to only 2 countries, and the main part of the export was made to Russia, where 1,089 tons of peaches worth $1.2 million were exported, and 321 tons of peaches worth $204 thousand – to Armenia.
Azerbaijan and Slovenia were also among Georgia’s trading partners by peach export last year, although sales volumes were small.
