The Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili expresses readiness to leave for Ukraine. Shalva Papuashvili wrote about it on his Facebook page.
"In recent days, I have had intensive and friendly communication with the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk.
The heroic attitude of the Ukrainian people and their Government, by which they defend their homeland and future, is truly exemplary.
Ruslan Stefanchuk reaffirmed his desire to host me in Ukraine in order to personally share the human tragedies caused by the Russian aggression and the consequences of the destruction.
Today we plan to talk in detail about the Russian aggression ongoing in Ukraine and the European future of our countries.
We will discuss Georgian-Ukrainian relations and the need for our coordination in order to avoid similar misunderstandings and to further strengthen the historically fraternal ties between our countries and peoples.
Our communication, as well as his interview yesterday on Imedi, assured me that there is a possibility of resolving all the inconveniences and misunderstandings. With this in mind, I had discussions with all the other leaders of the party and we all agreed that my visit to Ukraine can play an important role in resolving these issues.
I have already communicated with my colleague and I confirmed my readiness to pay a visit to Ukraine. In today's talk, we will discuss the details of the visit.
And I repeat, support for Ukraine and Ukrainian people is our human and historical duty, and we will fulfill this duty," Papuashvili declared.
