The Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said all winners of medals at the recently concluded Paralympic Games from the country and their coaches would be nominated for highest state awards.
The Government will hand out prize money for medals won by the competitors, similarly to the Olympic team that earned results at the Summer Games earlier this year.
Those gold medal winners will be awarded GEL1 million ($368,355,40), silver medal winners will receive GEL500,000 ($184,177,70) and bronze medalists will be granted GEL250,000 ($92,088,85).
Kobakhidze said the Government’s approach towards Paralympic athletes, who claimed nine medals at the Games, was “exactly the same” as Olympic medal-winners.
