Shalva Papuashvili, Chairman of the Georgian Parliament, has specified the conditions for restoring relations between Georgia and Russia in a statement to journalists.

“We have clearly stated the prerequisites for the restoration of relations between Georgia and Russia. Naturally, these relations can only be normalized if the Russian Federation recognizes Georgia’s territorial integrity. This is the path to normalization,” Papuashvili said.

He added, “The Russian Federation and its government are fully aware of the conditions for normalization. We support normalization, but it must begin with respect for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
