“It is difficult to add anything, because I think that Natia Turnava [NBG Acting President] provided the public with detailed information about the events taking place there, and several programs were dedicated to this,” - the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili said, while talking about the developments around the National Bank.
According to Davitashvili, agitation caused by political reasons is harmful to the reputation of both the country and the financial sector.
"I would like to add that we are in constant communication with representatives of the financial sector and all banks, in general. Unfortunately, agitation, which is mainly motivated by political reasons, is sometimes harmful. It damages the reputation of both the country and the financial sector. The financial sector is sensitive. Therefore, once again, our responsibility requires us to approach such issues gently and not to harm them, while we have very close communication with the main investors of the banks and international financial institutions, everything is very clear here - our financial sector is stable. Today, our banking system is stronger than ever; we communicate with investors so that they have objective information that Georgia is a reliable investment partner", - Levan Davitashvili stated.
