The Orthodox Church celebrates Epiphany on January 19.
In connection with this, services and prayers will be held in the temples. At the end of the service, believers can take holy water home.
According to the church teaching, the holy water has the grace of the Jordan River blessed by the Lord and has incorruptible properties. Believers can take it while fasting, especially during illness and ordeals.
Otherwise Epiphany is called the Feast of the Revelation of God, because the Holy Trinity was revealed on this day and baptism was also instituted.
According to the Holy Gospel, the baptism of Jesus Christ by Saint John the Baptist took place in the Jordan River.
