Only new, transparent elections can lead Georgia out of the crisis, said Lithuanian MEP Rasa Juknevičienė.
“Only new, transparent elections can lead the country out of this crisis. How to do this can be decided by Georgian society itself, with the support of the European Union. EU institutions have to act as mediators. And the sooner, the better”, the MEP tweeted.
According to her, " Kavelashvili is only a puppet and the inauguration is just a parody show. Salome Zourabichvili remains as the only legitimate leader of Georgia."
“Georgia is an important part of the broader picture of Russia’s war against Europe. The most important battle is, of course, being fought on the territory of Ukraine. We must decide: what to do? There is little choice, either to make a decision to achieve victory or to accept the existence of an aggressive republic. The US has taken a significant step forward by imposing sanctions against Ivanishvili and recognizing him as an instrument of Russian policy in Georgia. Now is the time for the EU to act,” the Lithuanian MEP wrote.
