“In May 2022, compared to the previous month, the inflation rate in Georgia was 1.1%, and the annual inflation rate stood at 13.3%,” - the National Statistics Office of Georgia reported.
The most significant impact on the rise in inflation rate was a 22%-increase in food prices annually. The cost of the most widely consumed goods has risen sharply - the prices of vegetables and horticulture has increased by more than 51%.
The list of the four types of products, which were cheaper in May 2022 compared to the same period last year, is as follows:
- Lemon - by 19.8%
- Kiwi - by 4.4%
- Bananas - by 2%
- Orange - by 0.5%
