On New Year's Eve, courtyard of residence of Georgian President to be available to all visitors

“From December 31 to January 15, the courtyard of the residence of the Georgian President on Atoneli Street will be open to all visitors,” - the press service of the presidential administration reported.

All comers these days from 18:00 pm to 22:00 pm will be able to visit the courtyard of the residence, which is decorated with the Georgian New Year trees - chichilaki. Visitors are allowed to take photos there.

“The Administration of the President of Georgia wishes you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We wish you joy and happiness!”, - the message says.

Salome Zurabishvili's residence - the former palace of the Orbeliani princes on Atoneli street, is located in the historical part of the city.

The President moved to the new residence in 2019, after she was elected head of state on December 16, 2018.

Zurabishvili refused to occupy the presidential palace in the Avlabari District, built on the order of the third president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili.

At present, the building of the former Avlabari Residence, where, in addition to Saakashvili, the fourth president of Georgia, Giorgi Margvelashvili, worked, is called the State Palace of Ceremonies and receives high-ranking guests.
