
The import of sunflower oil to Georgia has halved. According to the data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat), if the country bought 20,581 tons of oil (worth of $30,359 million) in the 7th month of 2021, the volume of the imported product in the same period this year amounted to 9,253 tons ($17,677 million).
Consequently, it turns out that this year the price of the Georgian oil import per ton has increased by about 29.5%. In particular, if last year the average cost of one ton was $1,475, in 2022 the price increased to $1,910.
This year, similarly to last year, the largest volume of oil was imported to Georgia from Russia, followed by Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Turkey.

Russia - 7,139 tons ($13,454 million) - average price per ton $1,884;
Azerbaijan - 1,525 tons ($3,045 million) average price per ton $1,997;
Ukraine - 278 tons ($524.1 thousand) average price per ton $1,885;
Kazakhstan - 142 tons ($273.5 thousand) average price per ton $1,926;
Turkey - 122 tons ($281.7 thousand) average price per ton $2,310.
