Number of visitors from Russia to Georgia increased by 257.7% this year

In the 1st quarter of 2023, the number of visitors from Russia to Georgia increased by 3.6 times compared to the same period of the previous year. According to the National Tourism Administration of Georgia, the number of international visitors from Russia has increased by 257.7% in the last 3 months compared to the same period of the previous year.

More specifically, in the first quarter of 2023, 256,787 visitors from Russia entered Georgia, while in the same period of 2022, this figure was 71,793.
It should also be noted that according to the number of international visitors, in the 1st quarter of 2023, Russia ranks 1st among the top 15 countries. It is followed by Turkey - with 216,391 visitors, and Armenia is in the 3rd place - with 182,543 visitors.
As for the indicator of the 1st quarter of 2019 before the pandemic, 254,077 visitors from Russia came to Georgia, which is 1.1% less than the indicator of the same period in 2023.
