According to the data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT), in the second quarter of 2023, the average monthly number of local visitors aged 15 and older on the territory of Georgia was determined as 1,289,600, and the average monthly number of visits made by them to the territory of the country amounted to 1,600,200 units. 
The average monthly number of visitors increased by 13.8 percent during the mentioned period, and the number of visits made by them was 24.9 percent higher than in the same period of the previous year.
"In the second quarter of 2023, the average monthly number of tourist-type visits made by Georgian resident visitors to the territory of Georgia was 670.6 thousand, which is 18.3 percent more than the indicator of the same period of the previous year.
In the second quarter of 2023, 36.6 percent of visitors belonged to the 31-50 age group. In addition, the number of women made up 55.4 percent of the total number of visitors.
According to the results of the survey, 35 percent of visitors are residents of Tbilisi, 16.5 percent come from Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti region, 10.3 percent - from Kvemo Kartli region, and the rest of the regions are represented with a relatively low share.
During the reporting period, the most visits were made to Tbilisi (an average of 356 thousand visits per month) and Imereti region (an average of 342.6 thousand visits per month).
The volume of average monthly expenses incurred during the visits made in the second quarter of 2023 was determined at 233.3 million GEL. This indicator is 11.8 percent higher than the figure of the same period last year. At the same time, the average cost per visit decreased by 10.5 percent and equaled 145.8 GEL," – GEOSTAT says.
