According to the data published by the National Tourism Administration of Georgia, 7,380 travelers from China visited Georgia last year, which was 0.13% of the total figure. In 2022, a total of 5,426,903 visitors entered Georgia.
As for the indicators of previous years, in 2021, 1,881,271 international visitors arrived in Georgia, of which 3,468 were Chinese citizens (0.18%).
In 2020, out of 1,747,110 travelers, 4,363 (0.24%) were from China. And in 2019, 9,357,964 visitors entered Georgia, of which 48,071 (0.51%) were Chinese.
To be informed, since September 11 of this year, the visa-free regime for Chinese citizens has been implemented in Georgia. According to the new regulation, Chinese citizens and persons permanently residing in the country will be able to enter Georgia without a visa and stay in the territory of the country for 30 days.
Before that, in July, after the meeting between the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili and the President of China Xi Jinping, the strategic partnership of the two countries became known. According to the Prime Minister, this will bring economic benefits to Georgia.
