On July 20, Eurowings has performed its first direct flight on the route Stuttgart-Tbilisi. Flights will be operated twice a week, every Wednesday and Sunday, by Airbus 320 aircraft.
Until recently, the German low-cost airline Eurowings only operated flights on the Dusseldorf-Tbilisi route. Nowadays, three airlines (Lufthansa, Condor, Eurowings) operate regular flights from Tbilisi International Airport to Germany with 4 different destinations.
According to Tamar Archuadze, the Director of the United Airports of Georgia, active negotiations have been underway with Eurowings airline since 2017 in order to start direct air traffic to Georgia and increase the number of destinations.
Eurowings entered the Georgian aviation market on July 4, 2021 and operates 2 times a week between Düsseldorf and Tbilisi. The Eurowings fare policy is designed for BASIC, SMART and BIZclass air tickets.
