According to Tamar Archuadze, Director of the Georgian Airports Union, Condor's entry into the air market is especially important for transatlantic transit flights.
"A completely new airline, the German Condor, is entering the market, with which we have successfully completed almost a year of negotiations. Frankfurt will be the third city in a row, where at this stage, it will be possible to get from the Tbilisi Airport. Germany is a strategically important direction for us. That's why we always work proactively to make as many airlines as possible get interested in the Georgian market and add more routes to the direction of the Federal Republic of Germany. We are constantly striving to diversify destinations at our international airports. Another partner of ours, EUROWINGS, starts flights from Tbilisi to Stuttgart, Germany in the summer. At this stage, it is possible to get to three German cities from the Kutaisi International Airport: Berlin, Memmingen and Dortmund. This means more international visitors and more high-spending tourists for our country's economy, as well as increasing the awareness of Georgia in our target markets,” - Tamar Archuadze said.
Condor Airlines was founded in 1955. Its main base is located at the Frankfurt Airport. As of July 2021, the airline owns 50 Boeing and Airbus aircraft. Condor operates flights to the Mediterranean countries, Asia, Africa, North and South America.
