
According to the press service of the Food Agency, within the framework of the visit, the Georgian delegation held meetings with Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture,Ahmed Saleh Aiadh AlKhamshi, and Chief Veterinarian, Sanad Alhardi. The parties discussed issues of future cooperation, trade in animal and plant products, cattle and small cattle.
According to Zurab Chekurashvili, the working visit ended with concrete results.
"We provided information to our Arab colleagues about the control system in Georgia, veterinary measures, epizootic and phytosanitary conditions, which was followed by a positive assessment. As a result, an agreement was reached, within the framework of which, in addition to small cattle, the export of cattle from Georgia to Saudi Arabia will be allowed. Negotiations on the export of Georgian honey and plant products have also been successfully completed," - Zurab Chekurashvili said.
The meetings were attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Saudi Arabia, Vakhtang Jaoshvili.
