
Natia Turnava, President of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), attended the conference titled "Overcoming Geo-Economic Fragmentation" in Amsterdam, which brought together governors of central banks from the IMF’s Netherlands-Belgium-Luxembourg Group. During the event, Turnava held a meeting with the IMF Executive Director and Alternative Director to discuss prospects for future cooperation.
The conference focused on the impact of geopolitical shocks on economies, geo-economic challenges, and potential response strategies. Notable participants included Klaas Knot, President of the Netherlands Bank; Alfred Kammer, Director of the European Department at the IMF; Gert Jan Koopman, Director-General of Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations at the European Commission, as well as central bank leaders.
The IMF's Netherlands-Belgium-Luxembourg Group includes Georgia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Andorra, Armenia, Cyprus, North Macedonia, Romania, Moldova, and Ukraine.
