
A delegation of World Bank experts visited the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) to enhance the country’s payment infrastructure and implement an instant payment system.
The experts met with NBG President Natia Turnava to discuss ongoing projects and their impact. At the concluding meeting, chaired by World Bank Program Leader Miguel Sánchez, discussions centered on the significance of payment system initiatives and future integration with other countries. Both sides agreed to continue collaboration on existing and new projects.
As part of the mission, World Bank experts conducted workshops for NBG employees, addressing key aspects of the new instant payment system.
The meeting was attended by NBG Vice President Ekaterine Galdava and representatives from various departments. During their visit, World Bank experts also engaged with stakeholders from the public and financial sectors, including commercial banks and payment service providers.
