
Governor of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), Natia Turnava, met with Fu Huang, President of China’s Cross-Border Interbank Payment System (CIPS), to explore avenues for financial cooperation.
According to the NBG press office, discussions focused on enhancing access for Georgian financial institutions to the CIPS global network, which would streamline cross-border payments and transactions with China.
Turnava emphasized that Georgia’s payment and settlement systems are rapidly advancing, and cooperation with CIPS would not only simplify bilateral financial operations but also bolster Georgia’s role as a regional transit and financial hub.
CIPS President Fu Huang highlighted the increasing volume of cross-border payments between Georgia and China, stating that integrating systems like CIPS would further facilitate economic cooperation and connectivity.
