Governor of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), Natia Turnava, held a meeting with Pan Gongsheng, Governor of the People’s Bank of China (PBC), on the sidelines of the 24th Annual Conference of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS).
According to the NBG, the discussion focused on the progress of initiatives outlined in the memorandum of understanding signed earlier this year between the two central banks.
“The memorandum aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation in key areas, including monetary policy, financial technologies, payment systems, and the development of securities markets,” the NBG stated.
The meeting underscored both institutions’ commitment to advancing financial sector collaboration and enhancing the strategic partnership between Georgia and China.
