The NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia Javier Colomina has expressed NATO’s support for Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and its Euro-Atlantic aspirations, calling Georgia a “very valued partner.”
"Every country has the right to choose its own path and security arrangements free from foreign interference,” Colomina concluded.
Colomina’s statement comes after Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili’s meeting with NATO Deputy Secretary-General Mircea Geoana along with Colomina.
Papuashvili also delivered a speech at the NATO-Georgia Commission (NGC) regarding the regional security challenges and the current developments in Georgia, noting “as a NATO aspirant country, Georgia is recognised by its prominent track record of implementing ambitious reforms.”
