
As the National Wine Agency of Georgia reported, during 6 months of the current year, with the organization and financial support of the National Wine Agency, the Georgian wine was presented in 12 countries of Georgia and the world (USA, Portugal, Norway, Italy, the Netherlands, Japan, Poland, Germany, France, Great Britain, Belgium, China) at various events, including 57 tastings, one international competition, 17 exhibitions and 9 festivals.
In parallel with the international marketing campaigns, the National Wine Agency implements the State Program for the Promotion of Georgian Wine Products within the Local Market, which provides for the financing of the Georgian wine festivals, thematic exhibitions, competitions, educational activities planned throughout Georgia. The goal of the program is to make the mechanism of financial support from the state for the promotion of wine production in the local market more flexible and transparent. During 2024, 22 events will be held with the financial support of the National Wine Agency. In 6 months of the current year, 6 events of various kinds have already been held with the help of the state funding.
The budget of the state program for the promotion of the Georgian wine in 2024 was set at 16 million GEL, which is 2 million GEL more than the 2023 budget.
It should be noted that holding the wine exhibitions, competitions, tours and festivals across Georgia significantly contributes to the development of wine tourism and the growth of the culture of bottled wine consumption among the local population.
The USA, Great Britain, Germany, Poland, Baltic states, China, South Korea and Japan remain the priority markets for the Georgian wine. The National Wine Agency, together with contractor marketing companies, implements various measures in order to foster the promotion of Georgian wine and increase its export in the mentioned markets. In addition, Georgian wine is presented at all important international exhibitions and festivals of wine and alcoholic beverages in America, Europe and Asia.
