
For maximum quality control, starting from June 2021, in accordance with the agreements signed with the National Wine Agency, the inspection of certified export Georgian wine will be carried out by the international audit companies "SGS" and "Bureau Veritas" in the clearance economic zone. These companies carried out 166 inspections last year, while the certificates of 20 samples out of 324 ones taken were revoked.
In addition, in 2021, the National Wine Agency carried out 50 state controls and state supervision, which means that the technological process of wine production in enterprises is in compliance with the requirements set by the legislation of Georgia. 700 samples were taken; the number of violations was 6.
During the reporting period, 41 inspections were carried out - 116 samples were taken, 3 of which were denied to be given a certification. An inspection involves determining the compliance of an exported alcoholic beverage or spirit sample submitted for certification with a lot (bottled wine batch).
In 2021, 275 tastings were conducted for organoleptic testing of export spirits; 12,527 samples were taken, of which 688 were evaluated negatively.
