
The Head of the National Tourism Administration of Georgia, Maia Omiadze, is participating in the gastronomic tourism forum in San Sebastian, Spain. The 8th forum is organized by the initiative of the United Nations World Tourism Organization. The forum is supported by the Basque Culinary School.
"Spain, the Basque Country, San Sebastian in particular, is known worldwide as the mecca of gastronomy in the direction of tourism. Organized by the United Nations World Tourism Organization, this forum will discuss the relationship between agriculture, gastronomy and tourism. Georgia has a great potential to gain a place in the world as one of the leading countries of gastronomic and tourist products. For this purpose, we in Spain and the Basque Country will get to know their culture and how this country became the most desired destination in the world", - the Head of the National Tourism Administration of Georgia, Maia Omiadze, said.
During three days, panel sessions and presentations are held with the participation of international experts. Technical visits to gastrotourism facilities are held within the framework of the forum. The relationship between agriculture and tourism, gastronomic routes and other issues will be discussed.
The representatives of the National Tourism Administration of Georgia are meeting the leaders of the tourism organizations of different countries in order to share their experiences. The forum participants have the opportunity to get acquainted with the Georgian tourist products, culinary and wine tourism destinations.
