
With the support of the European Union, the organization of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), the patronage of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, as part of the program the EU for Integrated Territorial Development (EU4ITD) - Catalysing Economic and Social Life in PIRDP Regions (CESL), the municipal integrated projects will be presented at Stamba Hotel, 15:00, on July 11.
The event will be opened and the guests will be addressed by the Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Mzia Giorgobiani, the Head of the Development and Cooperation Department of the European Union Representation in Georgia Nikolas Senderovich, the Head of the Cooperation Development Department of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in the South Caucasus Lydia Christman, GIZ-Georgia Regional Director Sandra Schenke and the chief executive of the GIZ-project, CESL, Howard Harding.
The main purpose of the event is to give the mayors of 14 municipalities an opportunity to present the initiatives selected for funding under the CESL project. For example, such grant projects are: improvement of the infrastructure of Kolkheti National Park, establishment of a modern laboratory of Bagdadi wine, rehabilitation of Dedoplistskaro Museum of Local Lore. Various products made by the beneficiaries of the selected municipalities will also be presented within the framework of the event.
The project mainly cooperates with the municipalities and the private sector and will last almost 4 years (until September 2025). Initiatives financed within the framework of the project (eg. infrastructure, equipment) are intended to facilitate the rapprochement and cooperation of local self-government, the private sector and civil society.
