Most remittances from Georgia were transferred to Turkey, Russia and Azerbaijan

In May 2023, a remittance of 30.9 million US dollars was sent abroad from Georgia, which is about $2 million (28.7 million US dollars) more than the similar indicator of May, 2022.
Turkey ranks first, where $6.7 million were transferred from Georgia. Russia ranks 2nd with almost 3.6 million GEL, and Azerbaijan – 3rd with $3.2 million.
Western Union is the most commonly used money transfer system for money transfers from Georgia abroad, through which $7.9 million were transferred in May. The Russian Zolotaya Korona ranks 2nd, using which $7.5 million were transferred from Georgia.
