In the first 6 months of 2023, milk and dairy products worth USD 64,295,710 were imported into Georgia. In quantity, the products of the group milk and cream without sugar additives with 6,935 tons ($7,490,960 worth) were imported into the country. 6,310 tons ($17,018,440) of condensed milk and cream, 3,214 ($5,494,230) tons of dairy products, yogurt and kefir, butter and other milk fats; 3,169 tons ($19,950,650) of milk pastes and 2,576 tons ($14,341,430) cottage cheese and curd were imported into Georgia.
The top five countries, which the most milk was imported from, are as follows - Azerbaijan ($2,295,580), France ($1,367,340), Poland ($1,004,200), Turkey ($846,930), Russia ($843,810).
Milk and cream, thickened or with sugar additives - products of this group were mostly imported from Iran ($3,895,520), Belarus ($3,882,650), the Netherlands ($3,409,370), Ukraine ($2,222,210) and Russia ($719,900).
