The National Tourism Administration of Georgia took part in the international tourism exhibition in Shanghai, China for the first time. The Department of Tourism and Resorts of Ajara, the Tbilisi City Hall, Svaneti, Samegrelo and Imereti Destination Management organizations were represented at the ITB China 2024 together with the National Tourism Administration. About 10 private companies from Georgia attended the exhibition.
"The National Tourism Administration has been participating in exhibitions and fairs in China for many years, but this year, for the first time, we are represented at ITB China 2024, Shanghai. We think it will be a successful exhibition. It should be noted that visa-free travel and direct flights significantly increase the interest of Chinese tourists in Georgia. Georgia has a great potential to attract many tourists from China," - the head of the Brand Development Department of the National Tourism Administration, Ana Kekelia, said.
At the exhibition, the executive director of ITB got acquainted with the stand of Georgia together with the largest Chinese tourism companies. Mario Tobias wished Georgia success and said that the country had a great potential to attract tourists.
The National Tourism Administration has raffled tickets for the visitors of the Shanghai International Tourism Exhibition to attend the concert of the British electronic music project Jungle. Within the framework of the Starring Georgia campaign, concerts with the participation of world stars will be held at the Black Sea Arena.
More than 1,600 organizations and companies from more than 80 countries were represented at the three-day Shanghai tourism exhibition.
