
A new, modern-standard sports complex has officially opened in Zugdidi, Samegrelo, the Ministry of Infrastructure announced. Built by the Ministry’s Municipal Development Fund, the facility includes three swimming pools, fitness and weightlifting halls, dressing rooms, and showers.
Designed to promote a healthy and active lifestyle, the complex is fully accessible for people with disabilities and features heating, air conditioning, fire safety systems, an outdoor café, shop, and parking for 100 cars and three buses.
The GEL 27 million project was financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) with government co-financing, as part of the Livable Cities Investment Project for Balanced Development. Similar complexes have been completed in Rustavi and Kutaisi, with one in Akhaltsikhe nearing completion.
